    .waiprous 2010. {stettler photographer}

    Monday, August 23rd, 2010

    Despite the smoke clouding our Central Alberta skies (from forest fires over 800 km away) we headed out to Waiprous this past weekend for our annual quad/dirt bike trip with friends from Calgary! I’m so glad we braved the smokey weather as it was nearly clear in the mountains!

    A bit of cold weather, a baby moniter that didn’t work, one tumble by Dad — but a lot of fun the whole weekend! Big thanks to Jamie & Carey for putting on another awesome weekend and for making such great lookin’ kids to photograph!

    Here’s some of our shots from Waiprous 2010 (check out 2009 here):

    Over the weekend, I headed over to Red Deer for the ‘official’ newborn session for Miss Madelyn. If you missed her hospital session and the story of my relationship with her momma, check it out here.

    Here’s the gorgeous little Maddie, again, and if you love the photos, leave some love in the comments!

    Maddie’s ‘sisters’ have welcomed her with open paws and love her even when she’s not in the best of moods!

    I’ve actually been remembering to take photos of products as I receive them for clients (and sometimes myself! tee hee) so I thought I’d post a few to show!

    Message me today if you’d like to learn more about the prints and products and to book a session for YOUR family! melissa@zimsphoto.com

    First up: Some products from Miss Taylor’s Grad Session.

    Clockwise from top left:
    Rep Cards – Fun new product that helps grads stay in touch after school ends!
    Packaging – The beautiful packaging your prints and products come in (finished with tissue paper inside)
    Cards – Front & Back of a Press Printed Thank You Card, totally custom designed
    Book – 5×5, charcoal leather press printed book, open to show the hinged pages (they lay right flat, too!)
    Book – Front Cover
    Card – Large Image

    And this is my new 20×24 Gallery Wrap! I’m in love with it — almost. After seeing it on the wall, I wish I had gotten it nearly twice as big. You just don’t realize how small they look until they’re on the wall! (I know, I know.) But it’s still manufactured beautifully and with a few additions, it now has a special place on our wall.

    (Sorry for the crappy photo of the Gallery Wrap)

    Here’s an update on  how quickly Tucker is growning and becoming his own chubby, little man (I call him my chunky monkey) and a photo to prove that Carter still does love his little brother (most of the time).

    Don’t forget to enter to win a FREE SESSION and if you’re thinking ahead to Fall Family Photos, check out the info on this year’s mini-sessions!

    Today I got to meet, and photograph, Owen Lee Gordon M. The best part? He is my brand-spankin’ new nephew and he is only 3 days old! He looks exactly like his big brother and already has the cutest ‘smile’. Even though it darn near killed me, here is the “one” picture sneak peek from his mini-session today!

    If you are expecting within the next four months and are interested in maternity and/or newborn photos, please contact me about booking now. I want to ensure we have your due date in the calendar and don’t book up around it!

    .graduation 2010 ~ taylor. {stettler graduation photographer}

    Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

    Last weekend was Stettler Grad and I had the pleasure of photographing two awesome graduates! In the morning I hung out with Brett and the afternoon was a date with Taylor!

    Now, I’ve known Taylor for a very long time as they attend the same church as my family (I even babysat her & her brother once or twice!) but I hadn’t seen Taylor in a few years. I expected the sweet, blonde, 12 year old little girl that I remember to walk into our first location. When this tall, GORGEOUS, dark haired beauty said “Hey Melissa!” I was shocked!

    I had so. much. fun with this session and found a new favourite location! I got a ton of great shots and had a hard time choosing between them so this is not a small sneak peek! lol

    Thank you so much to both my grads and their families. Special thank you to Taylor’s mom who has been so patient waiting for these sneak peeks!

    Graduation, May 29, 2010; SNOW! Not the greatest day for graduation photos! However, with a little creative and some fun, very willing clients, we got some fantastic shots!

    My first graduate was a friend of the Zimmermann Photography family, Brett! In my pre-mom, pre-photographer job as a legal assistant, I worked with Brett’s mom and once upon a time ago, Brett’s dad worked with my husband, Kyle! It was fantastic to be a witness to the end of one journey for Brett and the beginning of another!

    Here are some sneak peeks of Brett with his family, including his sister Katelyn and her boyfriend (another graduate), Justin!
